TRUST Contributes to the Stroke Rehab Mini Conference 2026 at Bournemouth University

The TRUST team was well represented at the Stroke Rehab Mini Conference 2026, held on 26th March 2026 at Bournemouth University’s Talbot Campus in Poole, with three members of the directors team presenting across the afternoon.

Professor Anba Soopramanien, MD PhD FRCP, Consultant in Spinal Injuries and Rehabilitation Medicine and Visiting Professor at Bournemouth University, delivered the keynote, Improving Access to Specialist Neurorehabilitation.

Shiva Jamwal, MSc, PGcert, BaOT, Consultant Occupational Therapist and Specialist in Spinal Cord Injuries, presented on the use of virtual reality as a tool in upper limb rehabilitation.

Sue Paddison, Grad Dip Phys MCSP, Consultant Physiotherapist Specialist in Spinal Cord Injury , presented on the role of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) in neurorehabilitation.

The conference brought together clinicians, researchers and rehabilitation specialists to share the latest developments in the field, with a programme chaired by Prof.

Carol Clark spanning topics from the biopsychosocial approach to brain injury rehabilitation through to neuromuscular electrical stimulation in the early stages after stroke.

The day closed with a discussion forum on the shift from analogue to digital in stroke services, a theme that sits at the heart of TRUST’s approach as a tele-rehabilitation specialist team.
